May TBR

I didn’t want to do a strict TBR just because this month is my birthday and I have a lot to do this month plus it’s my 21st birthday on the 17th May. So I didn’t want to put a lot of stress on me to try and read everything on my TBR so I do have a few books on here, but if I don’t read them then it’s fine!

  • The Witches of the Dark Power – Gabriella Lepore
  • Coral and Bone – Tiffany Duane
  • Empire of Storms – Sarah J Maas
  • A Court of Mist and Fury – Sarah J Maas
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J Maas

I do also have Lord of Shadows on preorder but I don’t know whether that will get here in time for me to read in May or before I go away at the beginning of June. So if it gets here I’ll be reading, if not then that’s definitely on the TBR for next month.

April Wrap-up

So I read 3 books in April and I am so proud of myself because I was also finishing my dissertation too! So I am well happy with 3 books!

This book was amazing, if you click on the title it will take you to a review, but for short this was amazing I fell in love with the characters and world building, it’s my top book for 2017 so far! I rated it 5/5 stars.

  • Queen Of Shadows – Sarah J Maas

I got kind of slumpish reading this in the middle I think it was the fact I was just reading Sarah J Maas and didn’t have a break, but I loved this book and Rowan I loved Rowan I think he may have just become my favourite character all together! By the end of this book I was like I need the next one! But no I put myself on a break and had to pick up something different. I rated this 5/5 stars on!

  • Strange The Dreamer – Laini Taylor

This book was pure beauty, the writing was beautiful and I loved the plot. I finished this last night and my thoughts are still scattered about it. I do know that I love it and I need the next book! Like the way it was ended! I need the next book! I loved the relationship between Lazlo and Sarai it was so cute and sweet and ahh I love it! I may do a proper review if my thoughts ever stop being all over the place. Just I loved it. 5/5 stars

I would like to thank OfTomes Publishing for sending me this arc to review. I have heard nothing about this author previously and I hadn’t read anything previously. I loved this book it was amazing! I read this in one sitting and honestly it took me like an hour! I just couldn’t put this down it was so gripping and the writing and characters it just drew me in and I didn’t want to leave. When it ended I was like I want more. I WANT TO READ MORE. I want to go back into this world! It’s the first story this year that has given me this feeling! Which I didn’t realise until I had finished the book!

We follow two siblings Mia and Dino who have been taken to the glass castle and adventure and everything follows! I loved the plot of this (I’m not going to go into detail because I’d rather keep this spoiler free so I’m going to be vague). With every step of the plot, I loved it and I loved how it was played out. Ahhh I just love it! If you couldn’t tell lol!

My favourite parts were well everything it’s all amazing! I really liked the sibling aspect in this book I love reading about siblings I should really read a lot more because I don’t read enough siblings. The love-hate relationship between them I could honestly relate to you being that I have siblings and they are annoying shit bags, but I also understood protecting them like Dino tries to do with Mia and vice versa. I really liked their relationship in this book! There is a particular scene that is my favourite I may have to do a video review so I can talk about it! But it was brilliant and I loved it so much.

I must have a thing for emotionally unavailable characters because straight away I was interested in Colt and I even found him funny when at times he wasn’t even being funny. I loved his character and it was so interesting watching him and Mia together I loved how they bonded. I loved everything about this I am still in gushing mode even like almost like a week later! But honestly the way these characters were written it was just amazing.

All the characters felt so real and for me, characters are the most important thing to a story and without characters, I love I can’t connect with stories but this wasn’t a problem. The characters felt 100% real and 3D it didn’t feel like any of them were there just to be side characters you got the hint that all the side characters had real backgrounds to them and I loved that.

Although there was a very much urgency in this post in terms of the plot and what the characters felt, we did have some very light and sometimes humorous moments and it was just perfect.

The world building was amazing the way that Gabrielle described the setting by the graves and the forest and even the school well glass castle it felt like I was there and sometimes I do struggle with imagining the settings so this was perfect and made me love it even more.

I think I am going to end this review (should probably be called a gush) here and I may probably end up doing a spoiler review sometime in the near future!

If you didn’t guess I gave it 5/5 stars on Goodreads!
